About the Founder
Nina Sharma has dedicated her career to working for companies and causes that empower others.
She is a passionate ecosystem builder, an accelerator of big ideas, a supporter of wide-eyed entrepreneurs, a driver of the Sustainable Development Goals, a giver of time, the daughter of an immigrant and a humanitarian, an expat of New York City with strong ties in Denver who currently resides in Washington, DC.
Driven by a range of overlapping interests, Nina’s career has included executive leadership, international development, marketing and communications, fundraising, and higher education administration. Her reputation for getting things done was earned through 20+ years of curating and activating partnerships, harnessing the best in her team, and inspiring others to turn ideas into action.
Most recently, Nina served at the Chief Marketing Officer at the Greater Washington Partnership, a civic alliance of business leaders committed to making the region from Baltimore to Richmond the most inclusive economy in the country. She raised the profile of the Partnership by increasing traditional and social media exposure, launching a podcast and website, and supporting the development of a 10-year Blueprint for Inclusive Growth.
From 2016-2022, Nina built and scaled Project X-ITE at the University of Denver, where she supported more than 1,000 young and global entrepreneurs, helping validate and build ventures, and connecting to mentors, investors, and partners. With a lean team, she built a full suite of entrepreneurial programs including an incubator, accelerator, mentor platform and pitch competition.
Nina’s early career was spent at the New York Public Library, Carnegie Hall, Yale University, and the Ad Council. She spent several years with Millennium Promise, a proof-of-concept model designed by Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, to eradicate extreme poverty in sub-Saharan Africa.
In 2016, she co-founded The Whole Truth Booth, a mobile storytelling platform that aimed to bridge social, political, and cultural divides. Read more about the Whole Truth Booth and their experience at the Inauguration and Women’s March here.
Underscoring her commitment to the community, in 2019 Nina was named a Denver Business Journal 40 Under 40 and the winner of the Colorado Inno on Fire “Blazer” Award. Nina is an alumnus of the Civico McKinsey Leadership Academy, and served as an Acceleration Partner with the UN Foundation’s Solutions Summit, and a lead facilitator with the German Marshall Fund’s Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative.
Nina received her BA from Hamilton College, her MPA from New York University, and her MBA from the University of Denver. She received the scar on heel from a fire door, her outdoor chops from climbing Mt. Rainier, and her love/hate with running from the New York City Marathon. She may have missed her calling as a singer in a rock band.
